We recommend the Ecarpat Arena for children who want a bike that rolls over sand, snow and loose gravel. Hycline lists 20×4.0 inch fat tires, a high-carbon steel frame, a suspension fork, Shimano 7-speed gearing with a grip shifter and front and rear mechanical disc brakes for riders about 4 to 5 feet tall, ages 6 and up.

Who it suits
The Arena is for children aged six and up who ride in sand, snow, gravel or mixed terrain and want a stable, cushioned bike.
Fat tires and fork
Four inch tires spread the load and soak up bumps, and a suspension fork takes the sting out of hits to the hands.
Gears and brakes
A Shimano 7-speed drivetrain with a grip shifter gives easy changes, and mechanical discs at both wheels give immediate stopping.
Our buying advice
Choose it for adventurous riding. For mostly paved routes, a lighter standard-tire bike is easier to push.
